The name must contain the word "Corporation,"
"Incorporated," "Company," "Limited," or an abbreviation thereof.
The name may not contain language stating or implying the corporation
is organized for purposes other than those permitted by state
law. The name shall not have the word "Cooperative" or any abbreviation
thereof. The name shall be distinguishable from, and not the
same as, deceptively similar to, or likely to be confused with
or mistaken for any name granted, registered, or reserved under
chapter or with the Secretary of State.

Annual Statements
Every domestic and foreign corporation authorized
to do business in Vermont must file an annual report
with the Secretary of State within 2½ months after the
expiration of its fiscal year (March 15th for calendar
year companies). The annual fee for a domestic corporation
is $25. The annual fee for a foreign corporation is
$150.
Income Tax Rate
Income tax rates are 7% on Vermont net income of
$10,000 or less; 8.10% of net income between $10,001
and $25,000; 9.20% of net income between $25,001 and
$250,000; 9.75% of net income in excess of $250,000.
The minimum tax is $250.
S Corporation
S Corporation status is recognized by the State of
Vermont. A separate state election from the federal
election is not required; although, some S Corporations
are required to pay a minimum entity level tax of $250.
License Requirements
Vermont requires most businesses to obtain a license
